Abstract

This study aims to investigate the extent to which Knowledge-Based Economy courses are embedded within undergraduate programs at Omani universities and how this integration aligns with the national priorities of Oman Vision 2040. The Knowledge-Based Economy prioritizes the production and utilization of knowledge, information, and skills to stimulate economic growth. To achieve the study’s objectives, a content analysis approach was employed, reviewing degree plans from both public and private higher education institutions. The study population comprised 33 HEIs across Oman, with a purposive sample of four universities: Sultan Qaboos University and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences representing the public sector, and Dhofar University and the University of Nizwa representing the private sector.
