The Saudi writer and novelist Abdullah Al-Dulaimi stated that Saudi culture has become increasingly dynamic and responsive to contemporary developments in the field of printed books and the digital sphere. He noted that the growing number of talented young writers, together with the diversity of their literary experiences and creative perspectives, has significantly strengthened the presence and visibility of Saudi culture at both the Arab and international levels.
In his interview with "Alam Al-Kutub", the World of Books magazine, Al-Dulaimi addressed some issues related to the future of the book and libraries, the relationship of Saudi youth with reading and literature, and the role of technology and social media in disseminating culture, alongside his vision for the future of the Saudi novel and the cultural projects he hopes to execute in the coming years.
Al-Dulaimi emphasized that social media has played a positive role in serving culture and literature by expanding the reach of cultural content to a broader, multilingual audience and fostering cultural awareness. However, he noted that this rapid dissemination has also led to the emergence of superficial content, stressing that the audience is responsible for crucially distinguishing between meaningful content and trivial material.
