Al-Alam Al-Kutub Journal is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Thaqeef Publishing and Distribution. It was founded and initially issued by the eminent scholars and literary figures Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Rifa’i and Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al-Muammar, with Prof. Dr. Yahya Mahmoud bin Junaid serving as the founding Editor-in-Chief. The first issue was published 43 years ago, in 1400 AH / 1980 CE.

The journal focuses on studies related to libraries and the history of the book, the publication of scholarly works, subject bibliographies, critical reviews of both classical and contemporary books, and the coverage and introduction of the latest Saudi and Arab publications. Since its inception, the journal has consistently contributed distinguished scholarly work and has been highly regarded by numerous scientific institutions across the Arab world. It also maintains a presence in departments of Arab and Islamic studies in universities and research institutions in the United States, as well as in several European and Asian countries.

The journal regularly features contributions from leading intellectuals and university faculty members across Saudi Arabia and the Arab world. Its editorial board includes a highly qualified advisory and peer-review committee, making the journal recognized and accredited by universities both within Saudi Arabia and internationally for faculty promotions. Notably, the advisory board has included three recipients of the King Faisal International Prize.

The journal announces the resumption of its publication after a period of interruption, with the first issue of Volume 42 scheduled for January 2026 / Rajab 1447 AH, God willing. On this occasion, the journal invites researchers and academics to contribute their scholarly works for publication, Noting that all submissions will undergo rigorous peer review under the supervision of a specialized academic editorial board.
